○ Exclusive terminal for cruise in construction at Incheon port will be opened next year to greet passengers.

○ According to Incheon Port Authority (IPA), cruise ship sailing in April & October next year with Incheon as the mother port has been finalized on the 26th together with Lotte Tour Development and Costa Cruise as a global cruise ship company.

○ The mother port refers to a port where passengers depart for travel rather than a port of call where a cruise ship drops by momentarily in the middle.

○ Accordingly, Costa Cruise plans to incorporate Costa Serena ship as a cruiser of 114,000-ton class  on April 26 next year as the formal opening day of the terminal to sail the course of Incheon~Shanghai, China~Fukuoka, Japan~Busan.

○ This cruise ship capable of boarding 3,000 passengers and 1,000 crewmen is equipped with a variety of amenities such as swimming pool and grand theater, casino, etc. and its inside space is larger than the area of combining 20 soccer fields. Also, it plans to depart Incheon on October 8 next year, return to Sokcho port, Gangwon-do via Shanghai~Fukuoka~Vladivostok, Russia.

○ An IPA official said " A tour program of looking around China town close to Incheon port, Wolmi Island, shopping facility, etc. was decided to be developed to attract cruise tourists".
