Incheon Port Authority (www.icpa.or.kr, CEO Nam Bong Hyeon) revealed that it hosted Incheon Port PR seminar at Lotte Hotel, Seoul on the 20th by inviting the members of Association of Foreign Ship-owners' Representatives in Korea (AFSRK).

 

According to Incheon Port Authority (IPA), CEO Nam Bong Hyeon unfolded active marketing activities such as providing the latest Incheon Port information necessary for reviewing the establishment of forwarding services through official meetings with the foreign ship-owners representatives in order to attract new routes.

 

CEO Nam promoted the advantages of Incheon New Port capable of ‘accommodating large container vessels’ and ‘establishing deep-sea route’ and sought for the interest and use to the 15 foreign ship-owners representatives who were present on this day. Furthermore, CEO Nam introduced the incentive system of Incheon Port with regards to the establishment of new route and forwarders with an increase in cargo volume and promised the active support for the establishment of new route.  

 

In addition, he emphasized on the fact that IPA has achieved this year’s objective of ‘3.08 million TEUs’ following the rapid increase of container volume in Incheon Port, revealing the ambition as a global port living up to its reputation.  

 

Nam Bong Hyeon, CEO of IPA stressed that “The container volume of Incheon Port in the first half of this year increased by 15.8% compared to last year and among them, there was a significant increase in countries with no direct route such as IndiaChile·Romania and others” and that “This may imply the potential demand for the establishment of route between South Korea’s metropolitan region and the relevant countries”.  

 

Meanwhile, AFSRK is an association comprised of 25 foreign ship-owners representative with a branch in Korean such as Maersk, COSCO, MSC and others and it is a group that has been established for the purpose of exchanging logistics business information between forwarders. Currently, it is being headed by Ugo Vincent, the Vice of CMA-CGM.
