○ The Incheon Port Authority (www.icpa.or.kr, President Lee Kyung-Gyu) announced that it held a commemorative event on December 30 to celebrate the highest annual passenger traffic on record in 2025 at the Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal and express gratitude to partner organizations and their employees for contributing to seamless passenger transportation services.
○ As of December 29, total coastal passenger traffic at Incheon Port reached 1.07 million (preliminary figure), surpassing the previous record of 1.063 million achieved in 2013.
○ The commemorative event took place in the first-floor waiting hall of the Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal and was attended by the Director of the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, the President of the Incheon Port Authority, as well as representatives from ferry operators and other related organizations.
○ The IPA emphasized that, amid a sharp rise in demand for coastal island tourism following the launch of the Incheon i-Sea Pass this year, it proactively enhanced passenger handling capacity by upgrading terminal facilities. Through close cooperation with relevant agencies and on-site operational management, the IPA successfully accommodated the increased passenger volume in an orderly manner.
○ The event featured ▲ the presentation of commemorative plaques to outstanding partner organizations and companies, ▲ individual commendations for distinguished contributors from related agencies and companies, and ▲ a commemorative photo session with representative passengers.
○ In particular, the passenger photo session was designed to underscore that passengers are at the heart of this milestone and to express appreciation for their continued patronage of the coastal passenger terminal.
○ Representative passengers were selected on-site from among travelers using the terminal during the event, with priority given to those traveling on routes newly launched this year to enhance connectivity with island communities.
○ The Director of the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries presented commemorative plaques to three coastal ferry operators and the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority in recognition of their contributions to passenger transportation and safety management, while the President of the Incheon Port Authority presented individual awards to outstanding contributors.
○ President Lee Kyung-Gyu stated, “This record passenger number is attributed to the collective efforts of related agencies, ferry operators, and frontline personnel ensuring passenger transportation and safety.” He added, “We will continue to enhance cooperation with partner organizations to ensure safe and convenient passenger services.”
