Incheon Port Authority (www.icpa.or.kr, CEO Nam Bong-hyeon) makes a plan to supply port hinterland covering a total of 4.866 million in order to resolve a lack of logistics sites in Incheon Port and embark on related services to establish a plan on using new port hinterland. 

 

New logistics sites offered by Incheon Port Authority (IPA) include 2.178 million of new port hinterland provided in the latter half of 2018 and 171,000 North Port hinterland (in the north) and 2.517 million of Second A-am logistics complex supplied in phase in the latter half of 2019.  

 

IPA plans to conduct survey on demand by port hinterland prior to supply of the new port hinterland and executes a service with regard to a plan to use new port hinterland of Incheon Port from this month to year end in order to come up with a detailed program to use port hinterland based on the result of the survey. 

 

The results of the service will be submitted to such governmental agencies as the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance that supervise the time of supply of port hinterland as well as feasibility studies so that they can be used in justifying earlier provision of the new port hinterland.

 

In the meantime, IPA plans to select business sectors subject to inducement as well as target companies before suggesting a method of attracting pertinent companies by conducting survey on demand and analyzing main export and import cargoes transported through Incheon Port.   

 

In addition, a detailed plan will be made on operation of such induced facilities as Joint Logistics Center for Small-and-Medium-Sized Logistics Companies, e-Commerce Cluster and New Port LNG Thermal Energy Refrigerating & Cold Storage Cluster, and new business models will be reviewed. 

 

Jong-gil Kim, Director of IPA Logistics Promotion Team, said, “It aims to contributes to creating cargoes and revitalizing the regional economy by proactively responding to opportunity factors related to Korea-China FTA and Korea-Vietnam FTA and creating conditions for inducement of cargoes with growth potential to Incheon Port based on a plan on use of new port hinterland of Incheon Port.”
